Tree #221 is a fourteen-year-old Chinese Elm with a powerful S-curve trunk — thick and textured at the base, with wired branches carrying a full, layered canopy that reaches wide to both sides. It comes potted in a rustic unglazed clay rectangle (9″ × 6″ × 3″), display-ready the day it arrives. It stands about 16 inches tall.

Chinese Elm is the classic first bonsai — forgiving if you miss a watering, happy indoors near a bright window or outside in gentle sun, and quick to bounce back after a trim. The tree in these photos is the exact tree you’ll receive, hand-raised at our Southern California nursery.
