Tree #240 — a cork bark Japanese Black Pine with real presence: a twisting, deeply textured trunk rising from a spread of exposed surface roots, carrying three tiers of dense, deep-green needle pads. The corky bark this variety is prized for is already developing along the trunk and will only get craggier with age.

It's planted in a handmade Señor square pot (8″ × 8″ × 3.5″) whose warm clay tone sets off the dark foliage beautifully — this one is ready to display as-is. Black pines are the classic refinement species: sun-loving, sturdy, and rewarding for anyone ready to practice candle work. It lives outdoors in full sun with a drink when the soil starts to dry. Hand-raised at our Southern California nursery.
