Tree #241 — a cork bark Japanese Black Pine with the kind of trunk collectors look for: aged, flaking bark, strong taper, and a dramatic spread of exposed surface roots gripping the soil. The canopy is layered into full, deep-green pads with that classic informal-upright movement.

It's planted in a Japanese blue glazed pot (11″ × 7″ × 4″) whose mottled indigo glaze plays beautifully against the gray bark and green needles — a display-ready pairing. Black pines are the classic refinement species: sun-loving, sturdy, and rewarding for anyone ready to practice candle work. It lives outdoors in full sun with a drink when the soil starts to dry. Hand-raised at our Southern California nursery.
